The Hepplewhite sideboard would have been used to store silver ware, dinnerware and other dining accoutrements. Modern Sideboards can be used in exactly the same way as the grand Hepplewhite and Chippendale (he also got in on the act) pieces. In the years from 1770, no dining room would have been considered complete without Sideboards. We may not have the grand dining style of the Hepplewhite and Chippendale era, but there is absolutely no reason why we shouldnt have one in modern homes today.
We have all seen some period dramas where a group of people are sitting in a grand dining room at a heavily laden table being served food from the sideboard. Whilst we may not have the servants or the grand dining rooms of yesteryears, we do still dine and need storage space for our cutlery and china. Therefore, Sideboards are pieces of history we can have in our homes today. Versatile and beautiful, they are ideal pieces of furniture for living rooms, dining rooms or indeed kitchens.
Sideboards are usually long and slim, and use a minimal amount of floor space, making it easy to fit them in anywhere! The table tops are ideal for you to place your food before serving, or can act as your bar counter or buffet table when you have social engagements! It can also serve as a place to display your favorite photographs, or aesthetically place a few decorative vases and themed knick knacks. With the ample storage space underneath, a plethora of choices are made available for you to store your crockery and china in the cabinets; silverware and linen in the draws, or perhaps a few cookbooks in the shelves. You even place your wine in the wine racks. The options are endless!
Gods: To state there are a lot of historic gods in Chinese ethnic background and many are usually displayed inside the symbols created or even drawn in the antiques. Because Chinese language history dates back to the year three,500 B. c., its no surprise that most of the gods and goddesses symbolized within the symbols are from the numerous cultural facets of individual behavior through the years. That is why the particular depiction of those gods is heavily influenced through emotions.
