Modern Sideboards can be used in exactly the same way as the grand Hepplewhite and Chippendale (he also got in on the act) pieces. In the years from 1770, no dining room would have been considered complete without Sideboards. We may not have the grand dining style of the Hepplewhite and Chippendale era, but there is absolutely no reason why we shouldnt have one in modern homes today.

Something can be beautiful to look at and be very practical to have, and oak sideboards are certainly that rare combination. If you want the full entertaining dining experience then a matching table, chairs and sideboard are a must. For those wine connoisseurs out there you can even get sideboards with built in wine racks, how cool would that look and how impressed would your guests be! You dont have to match your table to your sideboard or vice versa as mixing and matching styles and colours of wood can work equally well.

The legacy of years of influence of the Scandinavian designers has left us with many simple lines in current classics like a contemporary oak sideboard.
